Yesterday we started the ( Take action for water) unit. Mr Field came to talk to us. He told us that water is very important to the land and creatures. Back in the days before humans arrived the world was covered with green trees and plants. The seas, rivers and lakes had soft beautiful looking waters with creatures swimming up and down stream.
Now that human have arrived the earth looks like it clothes has being taken off. All of the land is bare, the water in streams, lakes and seas are polluted with moss, slime and rubbish on rocks and stones where the creatures live and now are disappearing because of human. All of the pipes were flooded with muck because of pollution that has being made of human.
After Mr Field talked to us we had to think what was the massage for looking after the environment is. I think the massage is...

Lobster-
You are not aloud to take female lobsters away from the sea when it has eggs on it, because it will become a mother lobster. There are two different kind of crayfish/ lobster, rock lobster/ crayfish and a pac horse/ which is a crayfish as well. The average size for a crayfish has has to be 6o ml’s before it gets taken out of the sea.
When you are catching crayfish by a crayfish pot you are only aloud to drop
three pots at a time. Fishermen are only aloud to take six crayfish per person. If you take over the limit you are fined for big money. It is a good idea to put frozen fish eggs or frozen fish heads in the pot because when it defrosts in the sea it will send a nice tasty smell to the crayfish and it will make more crayfish come to the pots.
Paua-
The a baby paua is the size of your little pinky finger. The average size of a paua that is aloud to be taken out from the sea has to be 125 ml’s, because
it will not be growing anymore because it will be an adult.
when you go fishing or diving for paua you are only aloud to take ten paua per person . If you take for then ten per person you have a fine that is big money . Paua like living here than living in the top of the north island because it is more rocker here and paua like living on rocks than sand.

Emergency happened in our town- Floods(big ones)
each family has to have emergency kit that will help them to survive for at least three days before the safety people help them.

earthquake- trees falling, glass braking/ pull certain
roof braking- get under a table- it is strong.
in an emergency never leave where you are keep indoors if possible.
stuff in your kit- caned food, torch, batteries, notebook, pencil, plenty of water, first aid.

pets- leave them behind, let them lose!!!!, if there is a flood you could put your cat and
food up in the Attic of your house.
you can store water in emergency kit for a year. It is best to change it every year.
